A central figure within BHG, he has taken on various organizational roles throughout his tenure, including senior credit officer and chief operating officer, adjusting to fulfill any position in the company's best interest.

Harold Carpenter

Harold Carpenter serves as Chief Financial Officer and as a member of Pinnacle's senior leadership team since 2000. Tyler Crawford is the President of BHG Financial. He is a seasoned executive with over 15 years of experience in financial services, business building, product strategy, and business development.

Beyond guiding BHG's vision and mission, Mr. Crawford oversees all lending functions under a single organization while still maintaining the role of Chief Operating Officer. Those responsibilities include leadership of loan sales and services, loan administration, credit and fraud operations, product & technology and enabling and corporate functions.

Since joining BHG in 2012, Mr. Crawford has held numerous executive roles across the organization, launching BHG's New York City office and leading initiatives focused on enhancing customer value, expanding market reach, and optimizing business efficiencies. 

His deep-rooted understanding of the lending industry has enabled BHG to set records in origination, revenue, and income, forging multiple new product and business development initiatives. These include BHG's credit card program and consumer lending, which have collectively served over 100,000 customers and generated over $1 billion in revenue.

Mr. Crawford participates in the company's strategic partnerships and investments as a board member at ApplePie Capital and Apiture. He also is a contributing member of the Forbes Council. He received his bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College.

Ms. Simons-Poole moved into this position from her role as Chief Regulatory Relations Officer where she oversaw regulatory and compliance matters for the organization.  

Prior to BHG, Ms. Simons-Poole spent 25 years at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). As their deputy regional director for risk management supervision, she oversaw 300 examiners across seven states, leading their risk management exam program for the southeast United States. During her time with the FDIC, she also completed Harvard’s John F Kennedy School of Government Federal Executive Leadership Program and the FDIC’s Women's Executive Leadership Program.

After departing the FDIC, she joined Promontory Financial Group as a director. She worked with many financial service clients, from large money center banks to fintechs, giving her insight into the challenges of managing business risk, evolving technology, and adapting business strategies.

Thomas Davis

Mr. Davis's team manages the cost of funds (COF) for daily loan sales to more than 1,600 community banks nationwide and is responsible for all collateral regarding Capital Markets transactions – often called upon to administer custom buying and selling events.

He began his career at BHG as a lead analyst, providing insight into loan sale methodology, costs, auction trends, bank industry trends, and institutional marketing. Prior to this, Mr. Davis was a senior analyst at National Grid, providing analysis and contract management for D-Line construction and service contracts under the PM&CC group. He was vice president of Sedgwick Capital Corporation, managing operations related to providing construction and receivables financing for the resort timeshare industry.

Mr. Davis is a New York Air National Guard veteran and received a bachelor's in psychology from Le Moyne College.

Ed Durant

In 2018, Mr. Durant was named to Central New York’s 40 Under Forty list, recognizing leadership in the workplace and community. He also received an award from the Business Journal News Network recognizing private company CFOs.

Ms. Brissette currently serves as treasurer on the board of directors for David's Refuge, a non-profit organization that supports parents and guardians of children with special needs or life-threatening medical conditions. He oversees various aspects of BHG Financial's products and services life cycles – including product strategy and managing execution for all new products, services, and partnerships across credit card, consumer lending, commercial lending, institutional sales, and capital markets divisions. Since joining BHG Financial, his team has delivered a new loan origination system, a paycheck protection program, and a variety of digital optimizations in the consumer lending program.

Before joining BHG Financial, Mr. Doyle worked in a similar function in global commercial payments at American Express, serving in product strategy and development.

Mr. Doyle holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management from California State University Fullerton.

Jenny Mechali

Jenny Mechali is the Senior Vice President of Operations at BHG Financial.

She oversees business operations and is a central figure focusing on leading transformational initiatives and process excellence, ensuring BHG is in the best position to meet its financial goals. Her role includes handling operational strategy and program management, helping to streamline BHG’s processes, and improving customer experiences. She is also responsible for the enterprise sourcing and vendor management function, which is comprised of vendor negotiations, contracts, sourcing, and RFPs. 

An experienced leader with a demonstrated history in strategy, operations, and financial and vendor management, she previously held roles at Ultimate Software and Citrix. 

Ms. Mechali has a Bachelor of Business (B.B.A.) from Florida Atlantic University and is certified in Six Sigma methodologies and agile delivery frameworks.

Christopher Capecelatro

Christopher Capecelatro is the Senior Vice President of Credit Operations for BHG Financial.

Mr. Capecelatro leads the credit team in executing the broader strategic vision of the organization. Building out the company’s small business underwriting capabilities, he focuses on developing application pathways that are low hassle for borrowers, powered by technology, and scalable. Utilizing bank transaction data, he developed a process that has pushed the boundaries of the previously established medical professional borrower archetype to a more dynamic approach that includes more accurate decisions based on timelier financial information encompassing risks applicable to all businesses.

Before joining BHG, he was a founding employee at Funding Circle U.S. He spent eight and a half years as director of U.S. underwriting, building the underwriting function from the ground up and developing, launching, and managing the transition to proprietary web-based underwriting software. He also previously worked as manager of credit at AIG Global Risk Management, owning and executing strategies to collect outstanding collateral, legal documents, and other receivables while overhauling the underwriting processes to optimize risk-adjusted profitability.

Mr. Capecelatro holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of New Hampshire.

Michael Race

Michael Race is Vice President of Card Services at BHG Financial. 

He oversees the company's small business and consumer Mastercard programs, leading the card originations and operations teams. Mr. Race works closely with the issuing bank, servicing partners, and various functional teams within the organization to ensure the program's success.

Over the past ten years, he has been heavily involved in the program's formation through the partnership with Pinnacle Bank. His focus has continually been on growing that business.

Mr. Race joined BHG in 2010 and has held various accounting, sales, and analytics roles.

He graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor's degree in finance and international business.

Misha Polovneff
VP, Corporate Development

Misha Polovneff is a Vice President at BHG Financial and presides over corporate development activities. 

In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s venture capital and control equity investment strategies, overseeing the portfolio of direct and fund investments, and helping guide the relationships of promising companies to BHG Financial. He is also an acting board representative for several of BHG’s portfolio companies and supports corporate strategy initiatives. 

Before joining BHG, Mr. Polovneff held roles at various private equity and investment banking firms. He additionally participates in several industry and stage-specific investment funds and holds one fund advisor delegation. 

Mr. Polovneff earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA. 

Corinne Galavitz, CPA
Chief of Staff

Corinne Galavitz, CPA, is BHG Financial's Chief of Staff, directly supporting BHG Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO Al Crawford and serving as a key strategic partner to the executive team in all business areas. 

Implementing and managing large cross-functional initiatives, Ms. Galavitz coordinates the strategic execution of all high-profile projects. She oversees their performance, enhancing team efficiency and ensuring each plan stays on-task. She also serves as the secretary for the BHG Financial Board of Directors.

She joined the company in 2018 as an accounting manager, followed by a move to controller for CCMR3, before returning to BHG Financial in her current role. Before coming to BHG Financial, she spent ten years with regional accounting firms, where she prepared financial statements and tax returns for closely held entities and high-net-worth individuals. 

Ms. Galavitz holds her NYS CPA license, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York Oswego with a bachelor's in public accounting, and is currently a director of the New York Central Square Lion’s Club.
